Obtained summary judgment and dismissal in federal court for a Judicial District and police officer for alleged violations of the Fourth Amendment related to a traffic stop. The Fifth Circuit affirmed the summary judgment and dismissal. See Weishaus v. Teichelman, et al, No. 22-11099, 2024 WL 620372 (5th Cir. 2024). The U.S. Supreme Court denied plaintiff’s petition for writ of certiorari. See Weisshaus v. Teichelman, No. 24-193, 2024 WL 4427255 (2024).
Obtained summary judgment in state court on behalf of title company for alleged claims of breach of contract, fraud, fraudulent inducement, breach of fiduciary duty, and violations of the Texas Insurance Code. Austin Court of Appeals affirmed summary judgment on all grounds. See Houndstooth Capital Real Estate, LLC v. Maverick Title of Texas, et al, No. 03-21-00093-CV, 2023 WL 2247748 (Tex. App.—Austin 2023, no pet.).
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of insurance carrier in a property damage first-party lawsuit involving allegations of breach of contract and violations of the Texas Insurance Code and Prompt Payment Act. Shafer v. Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance Association, 13th District Court, Navarro County, Texas (2023).
Obtained summary judgment on behalf of landlord against tenant for alleged premises liability claims involving a homicide. White v. Collins Family Properties, et al, 320th District Court, Potter County, Texas (2024).
Obtained a walk-away settlement on behalf of municipal client related to a public-works project where a general contractor alleged claims for breach of contract and violations of the Texas Prompt Pay Act. Leetech Solutions, LLC v. City of Wichita Falls, 89th District Court, Wichita County, Texas (2023).
Obtained dismissal of request for injunctive relief for Texas school district where plaintiff challenged the school district’s COVID-19 policies. See Long v. Jayton-Girard ISD, No. 5:21-CV-111-H (N.D. Tex. 2021).
