We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Covington has joined Brackett & Ellis, and will be working with the Firm’s School Law Section on employment law matters. Ms. Covington has been defending employers for almost twenty years. As a part of her practice, she has represented educational institutions on a variety of claims, including the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, and civil rights and Section 1983 claims.
Ms. Covington graduated from Texas Tech School of Law Magna Cum Laude in 1999. She served on the Texas Tech Law Review and was elected to the Order of Coif. In 2013, Ms. Covington was selected as a Fort Worth Business Press Power Attorney. She has also been named a Top Attorney for Employment Law by the Fort Worth Magazine. From 2015-2017, Ms. Covington served as the update author for “Employment in Texas: A Guide to Employment Laws, Regulations and Practices” a LexisNexis publication.
