Joe Cleveland of Brackett & Ellis is featured speaker in State Bar of Texas Webcast on the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act

On June 30, 2015, Joe Cleveland will be the featured speaker in a webcast hosted by State Bar of Texas on the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act.  Mr. Cleveland will be joined by Irene Kosturakis, Area Vice President of Intellectual Property for BMC Software, Inc. and Herbert J. Hammond, partner at Thompson & Knight, LLP.  The webcast is entitled the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act and the Changing Landscape of Trade Secret Protection.  Enacted in 2013, the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act (TUTSA) codified and modernized the law on misappropriation of trade secrets in Texas. The program covers a section-by-section analysis of TUTSA, provides practical steps for protecting trade secrets under TUTSA, and explores how TUTSA fits into the changing landscape of national and international efforts to protect trade secrets.

Mr. Cleveland currently serves as chair of the Trade Secrets Committee of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of Texas and was instrumental in drafting, preparing the bill analysis and testifying in support of the adoption of the Texas Uniform Trade Secrets Act. He is a frequent speaker on the topic of intellectual property and trade secrets at seminars throughout the state.
